We are looking for a dedicated Contract and Quality Manager to play a key role in ensuring our housing stock remains safe, secure, and fully compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements relating to water hygiene.

About the role

As part of a proactive and forward-thinking local authority team, you will lead the management and delivery of our water hygiene programme and associated remedial works. You will also assist the Compliance Manager with communal gas safety compliance across our housing portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing contractor performance, managing risks, and ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across a range of compliance disciplines, your primary focus will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our water systems, helping to protect residents and maintain high standards across our homes and communities.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Take operational responsibility for compliance across our water safety plant.Act as Contract Administrator, Manager, or Supervising Officer for mechanical service-related contracts.Develop and deliver strategic compliance plans, policies, and programmesLead on risk management, audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.Oversee annual programmes for testing, inspection and maintenance.Work closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to drive quality, safety, and best value.Support the Building Safety Manager role and contribute to Building Safety Cases and emerging legislation.Embed innovation and sustainability—including climate change considerations—into your compliance strategies.Recognised legionella/water hygiene qualifications (ACoP L8 etc), compliance knowledge, and practical experience managing communal water systems to HSG274 is essential.Communal gas qualifications would be desirable, however, demonstrable experience within a social housing gas management environment will be considered.
